Hi there, my name is Alisha Temples and I am a licensed nutritionist currently practicing in Northern Virginia and virtually. I earned a Masters in Science in Nutrition and Integrative Studies from Maryland University of Integrative Health. I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist with additional training in Intuitive Eating and Functional Medicine.
I am an avid yogi, reluctant runner, and enthusiastic Penguins fan. I have consulted a wide variety of athletes and clients, from Crossfit athletes, rowers, ultramarathon runners and triathletes, to hockey moms, soccer dads and first-time 5K finishers. I am a former multi-sport athlete with experience in swimming, rowing, figure competitions and powerlifting. Now as a nutritionist, I am known among my clients and colleagues for taking a common sense approach to sports nutrition and medical nutrition therapy (aka nutrition counseling). I combine the most current evidence and research on nutrition with tools and tricks to help you incorporate a healthy diet into your lifestyle. What that means for you? Actionable steps towards a healthy diet that fit into your life! No jargon, no complex meal plans, no diet dogma.
Hello, I am Jenn Lyons, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist in the Northern Virginia area. I am passionate about all things food and have the privilege to work every day helping people improve their health and manage disease through healthy eating. As an intercollegiate athlete, I was always interested in the relationship between nutrition and performance, and once I had the chance to pursue the Dietitian Nutritionist credential my interest expanded to the impact of nutrition on overall health. My specialties include support and education for diabetes and pre-diabetes and nutrition therapy for chronic health conditions. I am a firm believer that food is meant to be enjoyed, and utilize this idea in helping people improve their relationship with food.
I obtained my Master of Science in Health Administration from Central Michigan University, and my Dietetic Internship Graduate Certificate from Bowling Green State University.
In my spare moments I enjoy running, sports, spending time outdoors with my family, and sampling and cooking foods from around the world.
